Before you delve too far into the depths of my website, I thought I might tell you a little bit about myself and my career as a photographer...
I was born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri, and received my first camera when I was ten. I am sure I drove my mom crazy with my constant need for film and flash bulbs (yes, back then you needed both!). At that age it was just a fun hobby - I never imagined that it would turn into a career.
After highschool graduation, I moved to Florida, where I attended the University of Central Florida. I studied both Fine Arts and Psychology, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1996. Shortly after graduation, I happened to meet another local photographer who asked for my help with a wedding. That was in 1997, and I have been documenting life events ever since!
I am often asked "why weddings?"... One of the aspects I love about wedding photography is that every day is different. Even though I may shoot at the same venue or work with the same vendors, the couple is always different, and that is what fuels my creativity. It is also an emotional celebration, and to be able to capture that emotion is something that I love to do. But most of all, I just really like people! I like meeting new people, watching people interact with eachother, and I especially like photographing people. As I said earlier, everyone is different, and so it's as if I have a fresh blank canvas every time I take out my camera.
Along with being a photographer, I also get to add 'wife' and 'mom' to my credentials. I have been married since 2002, and we have two sons. I love anything to do with sports and the outdoors - I try to enjoy a round of golf every now and then, and run several 5k races throughout the year. But don't be fooled - I only run because I don't want to give up ice cream...
